Aaaaaaand Relax!

Well its been a bit of a rough day today, started off with an idiot trying to kill himself and everyone around him just to get in front of my bus and kinda went downhill after that, but on the bright side I'm off for 6 days now .....GET IN!!!

No major plans for the time off, but I'm getting a new phone line and speed upgrade for my broadband on Saturday....woohooo superfast porn!!! I mean blogging!!!! For the past 3 years or so I've been playing and moderating an online football manager game which unfortunately is coming to an end on Saturday so I'll be spending the last few days on that before it goes bye-bye, and apart from a docs appointment and a haircut which is desperately needed, my time is my own...might go to the cinema if i can drag anyone with me cos i want to see Attack The Block

I'm Still Around

Hi Chaps and Chapettes, Sorry i haven't posted over the past couple of days but i was away spending my lottery winnings. Not really, i wasn't very well on Thursday so didn't have much to write about and was working late last night. Working late tonight too so thankfully I'm going to miss the Eurovision Song Contest, what a farce that's turned into over the years! Ireland have obviously decided this year that as they stand no chance of winning it they're going to inflict Jedward on the world...and in a counter strike we're sending Blue!!

I think i can safely say "Nil Points" (in a french accent)

It Wasn't Me

So i woke up and eventually got round to checking my numbers for last nights mammoth lottery, first line...nothing. Second and third line....also nothing. 4th line...2 numbers!!! Checked the 5th line just in case and guess what?? Yeah that's right...sod all!

I cancelled the Armed Guard and went up to Sainsburys with a briefcase attached to my wrist by handcuffs to claim my £2.60 winnings....be gentle with the begging letters please.

On the bright side, it's a rollover on Friday so i may well reinvest my winnings lol.

It Could Be Me

Tonight sees the launch of the new Tuesday night EuroMillions lottery draw and as its the first one, they have decided to make it quite a large jackpot to drum up interest...85 million quid anyone?? Tough, IT'S MINE!!!!

I decided to buy a ticket...or 5, this afternoon at work, it would be rude not to seeing as they've made an effort. Had a chat with the lady who sold me the ticket she wished me luck, i said thanks and told her if she never saw me again then i've won it lol.

In all seriousness though we spoke about previous winners who haven't done anything with their winnings and it beggared belief...why play the lottery if you're not going to appreciate it? I'm sure they have their own reasons why they do what they do but i can't for the life of me see what it is.

I've already spent loads of tonights jackpot
  1. Pay off debts
  2. look after some mates
  3. donate to a few charities
  4. nice house
  5. couple of cars
  6. good long holiday or 3 for me and dad
  7. invest a load
  8. Buy a zebra so i can shave it to see if they really do have stripey skin
  9. Buy every newspaper company in the country and make sure Katie Price never gets anything printed about her again!!
As Captain Sensible once said "You got to have a dream, If you don't have a dream, How you gonna have a dream come true?"

Back To Reality

Had to go back to work today after having had 11 days off, it was a bit of a shock to the system but truth be told wasn't a bad day. Highlight had to be when a passenger asked me "are you regular?" to which i had to reply "thats a bit personal isn't it". Its nice when you can have a laugh with the passengers.

Anyway only a short post as i have to get to bed for an early start tomorrow...It really is back to reality *sigh*

All Change!!

Retro design badge for
Coventry City Home Kit 2011/2012 season
OK, the football season finished for me today so now I have about 4 months of boredom and anticipation ahead of me till the next season starts.
Its been a rough ride this season, it usually is as a Coventry Fan but this seasons been a smidge more eventful than usual. It started off fairly brightly with Aidy Boothroyd in charge and some promising signings, we had the drawn out saga of the Marlon King signing which was quite possibly the longest negotiation in history...well, at least since the last time i had to split a restaurant bill anyway.
As usual, the team was flying high in the league around Christmas time hovering around the play off places but then the wheels gradually fell off. Injuries ravaged the team, performances started faltering decisions went against us, we got so unlucky we wouldn't have hit water if we'd fallen off a boat. After an extended run of poor results the club sacked Aidy Boothroyd who had never been a popular choice amongst many fans, and installed Andy Thorn and Steve Harrison as caretakers. Then the chairman and various board members resigned...the club was falling apart in front of our eyes. It was then revealed the club was under a transfer embargo due to financial reasons and suddenly the fear of administration reared its ugly head. Three key players in Marlon King, Aaron Gunnarsson and Kieran Westwood where all out of contract at the end of the season and there was no sign of contracts being offered to them, the club had slid down the table and was now flirting with relegation...it was a dark time.
The Official CCFC Club Crest
Performances started picking up under Thorn and Harrisons guidance and a good sequence of results guaranteed our Championship status for another season. Andy Thorn was eventually offered and accepted the position of manager and contracts where finally offered to the Key 3.

So today in the glorious Norfolk sunshine we met 2nd place Norwich in the final game of the season and held them to a 2-2 draw, the curtain closed and now we start anticipating what is to come over the following months.

Will the rumoured takeover bid materialise? Will King, Westie or Gunnarsson sign up? Will we finally get a hot dog that tastes like meat? Who will leave and who will join?

Can't wait!

Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't I?

Welcome to the launch of my blog, If it was a ship this is the part where we'd be smashing a bottle of champagne over it, so I'm kinda glad its not a ship really...what a waste of booze and I really can't be arsed cleaning up the broken glass.

I don't really have an agenda for this journal, its just going to be opinions and ideas and the odd anecdote, so it may drift from subject to subject but I'll try and keep it as amusing as possible.
