All Change!!

Coventry City Home Kit 2011/2012 season
OK, the football season finished for me today so now I have about 4 months of boredom and anticipation ahead of me till the next season starts.
Its been a rough ride this season, it usually is as a Coventry Fan but this seasons been a smidge more eventful than usual. It started off fairly brightly with Aidy Boothroyd in charge and some promising signings, we had the drawn out saga of the Marlon King signing which was quite possibly the longest negotiation in history...well, at least since the last time i had to split a restaurant bill anyway.
As usual, the team was flying high in the league around Christmas time hovering around the play off places but then the wheels gradually fell off. Injuries ravaged the team, performances started faltering decisions went against us, we got so unlucky we wouldn't have hit water if we'd fallen off a boat. After an extended run of poor results the club sacked Aidy Boothroyd who had never been a popular choice amongst many fans, and installed Andy Thorn and Steve Harrison as caretakers. Then the chairman and various board members resigned...the club was falling apart in front of our eyes. It was then revealed the club was under a transfer embargo due to financial reasons and suddenly the fear of administration reared its ugly head. Three key players in Marlon King, Aaron Gunnarsson and Kieran Westwood where all out of contract at the end of the season and there was no sign of contracts being offered to them, the club had slid down the table and was now flirting with relegation...it was a dark time.

Performances started picking up under Thorn and Harrisons guidance and a good sequence of results guaranteed our Championship status for another season. Andy Thorn was eventually offered and accepted the position of manager and contracts where finally offered to the Key 3.

So today in the glorious Norfolk sunshine we met 2nd place Norwich in the final game of the season and held them to a 2-2 draw, the curtain closed and now we start anticipating what is to come over the following months.

Will the rumoured takeover bid materialise? Will King, Westie or Gunnarsson sign up? Will we finally get a hot dog that tastes like meat? Who will leave and who will join?

Can't wait!
